YNGR x Anthony Nti x Labels Inc. Shirt
YNGR x Anthony Nti x Labels Inc.“Drawing upon Anthony’s Ghanaian heritage, we collectively designed a print applied on to a shirt and pants,” says Donovan Tjon (designer of YNGR). “The pieces are gender neutral and are part of an ensemble.” The print incorporates the cocoa plant, which is native to Ghana and a Sankofa bird, an Adinkra symbol. Sankofa is a mythical bird that is often depicted flying forward while looking backward with an egg in its mouth, which symbolizes the future.“In order to understand our present and ensure our future, we must know our past,” says Anthony Nti. In addition to the print is the word NANA, which means you are entitled to royalty. This also references the filmmaker’s full name – Anthony Nana Kofi Nti Yeboah. “Everybody that wears the clothes can be a NANA,” says Anthony. The EnsembleThe matching stretch satin shirt and trouser ensemble are unisex. The shirts are for sale at €220,- and the trousers are for sale at €245,-.
